Yale SOM Participates in White House Convening for Women in Business

August 5, 2015

Today, representatives of the Yale School of Management participated in a convening at the White House hosted by the White House Council on Women and Girls and the Council of Economic Advisers. The convening focused on opportunities for the business community and business schools to work together to adapt to the changing needs of the workforce by expanding opportunity for women in business. Yale SOM joined over 40 business schools in committing to a set of best practices to build a business school experience that prepares women for the workforce of tomorrow.

Increased gender diversity is important to Yale SOM.  This year:

  • We welcomed the highest-ever percentage of female #YaleEMBA students, at 41%.
  • The percentage of women in our incoming Master of Advanced Management class reached 39% (up from 26% last year).
  • The Women in Management Club hosted WIM Week, a first-ever week-long discussion on gender diversity at Yale SOM.

We look forward to contributing to the dialogue with leaders from business school communities, as well as other stakeholders, on recruiting, training, and retaining leaders for the 21st-century workplace and the importance of implementing policies that work for families.
