On the Ice, We’re All Equals
A recent Bloomberg Business article explores the appeal of ice hockey at elite U.S. business schools, with a focus on Yale SOM. Lauren Cohen ’15, a captain of the Class of 2015 hockey team, says that close to 20 percent of MBA students join the hockey club, most without any hockey experience.
She explains: "People are trying to figure out the baseline mechanics of how to skate. If you can skate backwards and know how to stop, that’s definitely the high end of intermediate. Seeing your classmates struggle to stay upright is a nice reminder that we are all human.”
