This month we welcome David Daniel, the EMBA program’s new assistant director of operations and marketing. In addition to recruitment and managing communications, David will support and sit on the admissions committee.
As a new resident of New Haven, where I’m repatriating after 15 years abroad, I have a big adjustment ahead. Add a transition from undergraduate admissions to EMBA admissions, and it’s clear that I have a lot to learn. But it all feels right.
A bit of background about me: I’ve spent the last eight years in Doha, Qatar, and most of the previous seven years in China (Beijing and Chengdu, primarily). I was most recently working at Georgetown University in Qatar, where I was an admissions officer for the undergraduate School of Foreign Service (of which I am also an alumnus). It was an amazing experience. I loved being able to give back to my alma mater, and to contribute meaningfully by serving young people committed to the betterment and service of both their communities and the world. The Yale School of Management shares this mission-driven philosophy, which is part of what makes me so excited to join the MBA for Executives team.
I am excited to interact with the motivated and driven students that make the Yale School of Management MBA for Executives such an excellent program. For those of you for whom Connecticut is home, I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas for things to visit and experience, and of course for great food to eat (which I hear there is plenty of!). For those coming from further away, I’m eager to embark on this Yale and New Haven adventure alongside you! Most of all, I look forward to helping talented individuals find their home at Yale SOM, where they will be equipped to better serve both their businesses and communities.
As I transition to Yale SOM, I’m excited for what the future holds. I look forward to helping you along your EMBA journey, and to meaningfully contributing to an extremely talented group of students, faculty, and staff.
