Internship Spotlight: Tanmay Manohar '16

Switching gears to describe the focus of my project, it involves finding ways to use data-driven audience insights from the Data Strategy & Consumer Intelligence department to better inform the integrated marketing strategies designed by the highly creative Viacom Velocity team. Being able to combine technical expertise with creative vision is exactly the type of work that excites me.

Energy Club’s Virtual Alumni Career Panel Offers Real World Advice

The leaders of the Energy Club, Pablo Montes Iannini MBA/MEM 2015 and Theo Polan MBA 2015, organized a first-ever virtual alumni career panel on December 1. It featured Bryan Eckstein, Project Finance at SunEdison, Tyler van Leeuwen, CO2 Adviser at Shell, and Nate Gorence, Advanced Research Projects Agency at DOE ARPA-E, and was moderated by Pablo. Alumni offered advice on recruiting, spoke about their medium-term career objectives, and reflected on valuable experiences at Yale SOM.

Joint-Degree Students Share Internship Takeaways

Summer internships give MBA students opportunities to try out new roles, new organizations, even new sectors. For some students, these opportunities are doubled. Students pursuing joint degrees at Yale SOM and the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies are at Yale for three years—so they have two summers to intern. They work on a wide variety of sustainability issues, exploring their career options and honing their skill sets along the way.
