ICF Executive Fellow: Andrea Levere '83

The ICF is excited to welcome Andrea Levere ’83, as our current ICF Executive Fellow.  Andrea is President Emerita of Prosperity Now and is spending the year at Yale SOM sharing her expertise and knowledge of nonprofit organizations and working with several students on a special project.

During her short time visiting Yale SOM this fall, Andrea has already convened a group of influential leaders involved with nonprofit organizations to discuss, “Charting the Next Wave of Equitable Finance.” The ICF teamed up with the Program on Social Enterprise, Innovation, and Impact to host the convening and Andrea is currently working with four Yale SOM MBA students to take their notes from the powerful discussions and turn them into a proceedings document which is intended to be used by practitioners, donors, investors, and academics as a resource to inform the design and delivery of products that can meaningfully increase the availability and investment of equitable finance.

We hope to share more about Andrea’s work  at a later date when the project is ready to be revealed!

Andrea Levere is President Emerita of Prosperity Now (formerly CFED), a private nonprofit organization with the mission of ensuring that everyone can gain financial stability, build wealth and achieve prosperity.  It designs and operates major national initiatives that aim to integrate financial capability services into systems serving low-income people, build assets and savings, close the racial wealth divide and advance research and policies that expands economy mobility for all. She stepped down in August 2019 after spending 15 years as President and 27 years with the organization.

In 2013, President Obama appointed Ms. Levere to the National Cooperative Bank’s (NCB) Board of Directors.  She serves as the Chair of the Community Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the Chair of ROC USA, a national social venture that converts manufactured home parks into resident owned cooperatives. She is also member of the FDIC’s Committee on Economic Inclusion, and Morgan Stanley’s Community Development Advisory Board. She holds a BA from Brown University and an MBA from Yale University.
