As Director of Admissions for the Yale MBA for Executives program I have the privilege of meeting with outstanding professionals who have worked hard to advance in their careers and make an impact in their fields. Despite their success and many competing priorities in increasingly complex lives, they seem to yearn for more, to step up and do more, to develop as leaders and make a greater impact to their organizations, industries, communities and to society as a whole.
This resonates with me because I feel that the Yale School of Management (SOM) is a true community of purpose. I hear it in the conversations amongst alumni, students, faculty and staff. A recent article summed up how Dean Ted Snyder’s aspirations for the school (to be the business school most integrated with its home university; to be the most global business school; to be the best source of leaders for all sectors) are attracting a lot of attention. In a quote in the article, Deputy Dean Andrew Metrick summed up the feeling around Evans Hall: “Right now, there is an incredible sense of excitement about the growth of the place.”
As my colleague Ian Rogan described in last month’s newsletter, 2014 was a landmark year for Yale SOM and the MBA for Executives. There is great momentum here: there is an excitement in the air that you’ll feel when you visit us. The new year promises even greater things. There has never been a better time to join us on this extraordinary journey.
A new year brings fresh perspectives and renewed purpose. If you have been yearning for more, if you’re ready to take the next step, 2015 is your year. We’re delighted to offer you many opportunities to act. I encourage you to browse our upcoming events and come talk to us.
Wishing you a very happy new year!
