Happy New Year from the Yale MBA for Executives admissions office!
The year 2016 is off to a flying start here at the Yale School of Management (SOM). The first few days of January arrived with some wonderful recognition for our dean, Ted Snyder, who was appointed to another term in his post. In his official announcement, Yale President Peter Salovey highlighted Dean Snyder’s “talent for motivating colleagues [and] uniting faculty, staff, and students in a strong sense of purpose,” and applauded his strategy and accomplishments, writing that they “exemplify the school’s efforts to foster connections with the wider university.”
Snyder was also named “Dean of the Year” by Poets & Quants, which recognized Yale SOM’s “major repositioning as a business school that is more deeply connected to its home university and one that is the most global of the U.S. business schools” under Dean Snyder’s leadership. We eagerly look forward to Ted’s next term as dean, and especially the innovation and ideas that he will continue to inspire.
To add to the good news, Dean Snyder announced this week that Indra K. Nooyi ’80, former member of the Yale Corporation and chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, has generously endowed the deanship at the Yale School of Management. Nooyi’s gift is in part a testament to her life-altering experience at Yale SOM, which, she says, provided her with “the fundamental understanding that leadership requires an expansive worldview and a deep appreciation of the many points of intersection between business and society.”
