From the Director of Admissions: An Update on MAM Admissions

Joanne Legler outlines the steps the Master of Advanced Management program is taking to help candidates complete their applications for the Class of 2021.

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are being felt across the globe, causing profound disruptions to both our personal and professional lives. Above all else, we hope you and yours are well, and taking measures to protect yourselves and your community.

Here at Yale SOM, we are all doing our part to preserve the educational experience for all students; many of us on the administrative staff have volunteered to help host and monitor remote classes. While we couldn’t have predicted the current situation, we are incredibly proud to be part of the huge effort to ensure that the MAM Class of 2020  will keep learning and graduate from our program in May.

During this unprecedented time, our admissions team is mindful of the concerns of aspiring business school students. The pandemic may have created a variety of obstacles to your MAM journey; in particular, we understand that you may be in a situation that has made applying by our recent Round 3 (and final) deadline of April 14 challenging. We want to do what we can to give candidates who wish to apply to Yale SOM this application season every possible opportunity to do so. Whether you just need a few more days to complete a final check, or found our program later in the process and wish to submit an application a little later and still have the opportunity to join us this fall, we’ll work with you individually to complete the process. We will continue to accept and evaluate applications throughout the next several weeks; applications received after April 14 may be considered on a later timeline for invited interviews and final admissions decisions.

While we don’t know how the pandemic will unfold and when visa processing will resume, we are planning for a full class to join us this fall if possible and are making every effort to make that happen. In the midst of this crisis, Yale SOM continues to be guided by its mission to educate leaders for business and society. We welcome your questions via email and invite you to stay up to date on Yale’s response to the epidemic on our website.

Please stay safe and healthy,
