Finals Week at SOM: An Ode to Fall 2
It’s finals week here at SOM, and it hasn’t gotten easier the second time around. With a day to study before exams begin, our whole class seems to have been looking for ways to avoid studying. From baking to social activities to a Facebook discussion of the opportunities for arbitrage in red curry futures, pretty much everyone had a technique. Here’s my own form of procrastination: an ode to Fall 2 and finals, set to the tune of the pop song and meme generator, “Call Me Maybe.”
Four exams in this week,
Start with how firms compete,
I just want to go sleep,
But tests are in my way.
Need to learn to invest,
Betas are on the test,
My understanding’s a mess,
And tests are in my way.
There’s parties goin’
GYPSY, booze is flowin’,
Heading out the door and,
“Where d’you think you’re going, baby?”
Hey I just met you, and this is crazy
But here’s my final, proficient maybe?
It’s hard to look back, the quarter’s hazy,
But here’s my final, so pass me maybe?

Frameworks help you excel,
Value prop’s help you sell,
3Cs, 4P, oh hell,
Still finals in my way.
Funds to manage and source,
I don’t know how, of course,
Can I call on The Force?
