EMBA Class of 2018 Women's Retreat

November 14, 2016

Class unity continues to grow each day with the recent completion of the first set of EMBA finals, and transition to the next set of classes for the semester.  To know that you have your peers behind you every step of the way is the only way to get through the rigor of this program, and our class certainly has found the way to form the rock that allows us to support one another.

The women in the class have created a special bond as we all bring extremely unique professional experiences to our class.  We recently took a retreat together after a class weekend to East Hampton, NY, where we spent the weekend learning more about one another’s life experiences.  From exchanging stories about our varying work experiences to discussions about our families, we had the chance to learn that we had more in common than our academic pursuits.

The support amongst the women of the class is something truly extraordinary and the way we provide mentorship is not something that is easily found in the workplace.  In fact, this bond is so deep that I don’t think that it is even something you could find in your workplace, even if you tried to seek it out.  Our admissions efforts don’t include class mentoring as a reason to join the Yale community, but I will tell you with certainty, it is our best kept secret!

Please enjoy some pictures from our weekend, which included a dinner on Saturday night at home and then a quick visit to the beach (yes it was 40 degrees - but we prepared for the elements!) on Sunday, followed by lunch at the Wolffer Estate Winery.
