Conference Recap: Yale RFS Real and Private-Value Assets

On January 31st, the ICF sponsored and hosted a conference jointly with the Review of Financial Studies about "Real and Private-Value Assets" at the Yale School of Management. ICF Faculty Director, Professor William Goetzmann, was the conference chair along with Professors Christophe Spaenjers (HEC Paris and a former VAR student at Yale SOM) and Stijn van Nieuwerburgh (Columbia University and Editor of the Review of Financial Studies).

The conference brought together several academics that presented their research on real and private-value assets, such as residential real estate, commercial real estate, art and other collectibles, and other assets with a private-value component.

The conference chairs received an overwhelming amount of paper submissions on the topic of real and private-value assets. One of the selected papers presented at the conference was, "The Gender Gap in Housing Returns," by Professors Paul Goldsmith-Pinkham and Kelly Shue.
