From the Assistant Dean for Admissions: Application Tips for Round 2

With the Round 2 application deadline of January 7, 2016, less than a month away, we’d like to share with you a couple of pieces of advice from members of our admissions committee on preparing your Yale SOM application. There will be much more at the Application Tips Panel tomorrow, Thursday, December 10.

• Be sure to have multiple examples of impact to share at various points in the application process. If you use the same example in your essay, video questions, and interview, you will give the impression that your experience has been very shallow.
• When speaking with your recommenders, don’t give them anything you’ve written for your application. They may incorporate it into their recommendation, which could raise flags for the admissions committee.
