Appreciation Reverberates through Community on Day of Thanks

On November 14, Yale SOM held its annual Day of Thanks, an opportunity for students to express appreciation for their classmates, as well as SOM alumni, faculty, and staff, in handwritten notes. Each student also receives a personalized message from event organizers, thanking them for their contributions to student life and academics, and their participation in the Yale SOM community. Here are what a few students had to say about what—and whom—they’re most thankful for.

Elaine Bian MAM ’18

“I am going to give thanks to a special group from my course Interpersonal Dynamics Lab. They have been with me for the last 12 weeks, and we have been very intensively working together and have become like a family. It has been a very tough path, and I just want to thank them for being with me the entire time.”

“I am really thankful for being here [from China]. I am really enjoying the experience here so far. I’ve met a lot of amazing friends here from different countries.”

Santiago “Santi” Zindel MBA/MEM ’19

“I have found a lot of great friends here at the school and I am thankful that the people I am here sharing my experience with have been so supportive in my own learning.”
