Jay Tansey ’16

Internship: PepsiCo, Inc.—Pepsi Marketing Team, White Plains, New York
Home country/state: Milton, Massachusetts
Pre-SOM Role:  Legislative Policy Advisor, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Washington, D.C.
Favorite Yale SOM class: It’s a tie between Negotiations (core) and Strategic Marketing Leadership (elective).

Over the past two months, I have become fully immersed in one of the most dynamic companies in the world, PepsiCo, Inc. In my role as the Summer Marketing Associate on the Pepsi brand team, I developed the digital communications strategy for the 2016 summer campaign and presented my recommendations to the senior leadership. (I can’t say much about it, but trust me, it’s going to be awesome!)  Beyond engaging in incredibly interesting work, I’ve participated in a wide range of activities at PepsiCo.  From playing softball at Citi Field and rocking out with Brad Paisley to producing engaging creative concepts with our ad agency and crafting innovative media plans with Facebook, this summer has been both fun and challenging. I look forward to continue building on these new skills and experiences this year at SOM.
