Toughest week at SOM so far...

Hi Everybody, I wanted to share my experiences of the past week so that prospective students will know what to expect. In the past week I was at school from about 8:30 am to 9-10 pm every day, and then spent the rest of my awake time at home doing homework until I went to sleep. I am writing this post while reflecting on this week's amazing variety of experiences and replenishing my energy for next week. We are currently in the middle of the fall2 semester, studying with the integrated curriculum. (I strongly recommend you read my good friend Danish's post about it!). By this time of the year even the slowest students of the group (i.e myself) realized that they are in a world class MBA program. In addition to the very demanding and time consuming class work, students are working full swing on their resumes, cover letters and recruiting. for us consulting addicts it also means practice casing (If you are wondering what a case interview is I will say that it is sort of a business oriented role play game. and since I played plenty Dungeons and Dragons when I was a kid, I really like it!) and participate in cool case competitions, for other students it means going to a Net Impact convention in Portland or having regular trips to nearby New York City to meet plenty of people from Fortune 100 companies. Our activities have culminated to a peak during the past week. with companies such as Google, McKinsey, Credit Suiss and UBS and others coming to campus. Furthermore many students took part in a case competition based on an going real life event and that was an intense but rewarding experience. Studying at Yale SOM is an amazing experience that really provides endless opportunities. It's like a huge faucet that sprouts tons of water, and you need to know how much water you can drink, and when it is time to let go and rest If you have questions that you want to ask about the day to day life of students at SOM, feel free to drop me a line
