Joe Dobrow has been at the marketing helm of some of the most progressive brands of the last two decades. He is particularly well known within the natural foods industry, having served as the head of marketing for Fresh Fields, Whole Foods Market, Balducci’s and Sprouts Farmers Market. He was also a top marketing executive at Flexcar (now known as Zipcar), and Discovery Channel. During a richly varied 28-year career that has also included stints in sports, media and non-profits, he has been hired by, and worked directly with, some of the country’s most iconic business and sports executives – including AOL Co-Founder Steve Case, Whole Foods Founder and CEO John Mackey, Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr., Basketball Hall of Famer Dave Cowens, and legendary cause marketer Carol Cone. Dobrow holds an undergraduate degree in history from Brown University (where he trained under the late John L. Thomas), an MBA from Yale University (where he studied with preeminent Western American historian Howard R. Lamar), and served as the Robert A. Fox Executive in Residence at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management.

Patrick has been working at the farm full time since 2006. Prior to that (he was a part-time farmer from 1996-2006) he worked in finance at R.G. Niederhoffer Capital Management, a New York City hedge fund, while also pursuing acting He is a graduate of Union College (B.A. English) and The Stella Adler Conservatory (MFA program). He is responsible for marketing, sales, and operations, as well as day to day farming duties. He divides his time between Brooklyn, NY, and Washington. CT.

Dan Horan has been working in food and farming for more than 22 years. In 1990, he founded Waldingfield Farm, an organic vegetable farm in Washington, Connecticut. Dan recruited his younger brothers to join him, and Waldingfield Farm continues to operate to this day. Dan remains on the farm’s board of directors. From 1995 to 1999, he was a General Manager at Gourmet Garage, an independent supermarket in New York City. From 1999 to 2010, he was CEO and President of Papaya King, a New York-based restaurant company. A graduate of Tufts University, Dan holds an MBA from Yale University.

As a farmer, educator, advocate and leader, Mark Bomford has spent the last 18 years immersed in creating sustainable food systems. Mark was the founding Director for the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at the University of British Columbia, where he launched an inter-disciplinary program and a thriving 60-acre teaching and research farm on campus. Prior to his work at UBC, Mark worked in the non-profit sector, establishing school gardens, new farms and food enterprises, and a range of international urban agricultural programs. Mark joined Yale University as the Director for the Yale Sustainable Food Project in late 2011. Under the theme of “Food Literate Leadership,” Mark aspires to position the Yale Sustainable Food Project at the forefront of a global movement for change in the food system.
