Roger H. Brown '82
President, Berklee College of Music
If you get people to care about the purpose, all the other stuff doesn't matter so much. People can be enormously motivated to do the right thing, if they just know what the right thing is.
For Roger Brown ’82, president of Berklee College of Music, effective leadership comes from authentic leaders: people doing the work that matters to them in a role that reflects who they truly are. Brown previously cofounded and led Bright Horizons, a billion-dollar, publicly traded childcare provider, and ran relief operations in Asia and Africa.
Brown spoke to Yale Insights in 2011 about the leadership lessons he’s learned working in all sectors.
