No two weekends are ever the same at SOM. Here's nine things that come to mind about the past weekend... 1. Weather broke 70 degrees. I believe we even made it to 75. This is truly something to celebrate when you're in the Northeast and it's not even May, yet. 2. Got to read a book for class that has been on my own list of "things to read" (Blink by M. Gladwell). Here’s some random trivia for you—did you know that the Yale School of Management has its own mascot … and that it’s a bison? Yup, that’s right. While we love, adore and respect our parent university’s mascot, “Handsome Dan”—the cute, yet fierce bulldog you’ve probably seen on every t-shirt our Athletic Department has produced—SOM just never felt like Handsome Dan was a true testament to our school’s might and power.

Greetings, everyone. My name is Amy, I'm a first-year student (Class of 2008) here at SOM and this is my first official post on the community blog! Today, classes began for the final quarter--I'm still not sure how this year has flown by so quickly, but I can vouch for the fact that it has been an incredible experience. It's somewhat difficult to describe all that I've learned--academically and personally--in my first year as an MBA student.
