Admissions

The application for the 2015 Global Pre-MBA Leadership Program will be available in January 2015.

The required application materials include:

Personal Information

Applicants must provide basic information about where they are from, where they currently reside, and the best way for Yale SOM to contact them. Please be sure that we have up-to-date contact information, especially your email address and mobile number.

Academic Transcript(s)

Applicants must upload an electronic transcript for every post-secondary institution they have attended. The transcript does not need to be official. However, Yale SOM may request official copies of all academic transcripts if you are admitted to the program.

Personal Statement

Choose one (1) from the following two (2) Personal Statements and answer it in essay form. (450 words maximum)

  1. Tell us about one of your role models and how your admiration for that person helps shape where you see yourself in 25 years.
  2. Imagine you have a documentary film crew following you to document a typical week in your life ten years from now. What kinds of things would they capture you doing? Where and with whom; to what ends?

Essay of Intent

From the lens of business and society, what challenges do you envision the world facing in the next ten to fifteen years? How do you think the Global Pre-MBA Leadership Program will equip you to face these challenges? (300 words maximum)

Recommendations

Two professional recommendations are required. If you are currently enrolled in school, one recommendation should come from a teacher or professor who can comment on your academic abilities and accomplishments in class. The other recommendation should be provided by an advisor, counselor, mentor, or supervisor, who can comment on either your professional achievements or your accomplishments in an extracurricular activity, focusing on your leadership abilities.

Video Interview

After you submit your application, you will need to answer a small number of video questions. These questions are intended to give you another opportunity to tell us about yourself. They will ask you about your past experiences, how you handled certain situations, and to respond to certain statements. They are not meant to be difficult and should not require extensive preparation to answer. You will receive an email with detailed instructions about the video questions after the application deadline.
