So yesterday I returned from a five-day, four-night Carnival cruise to Mexico with 75 of my classmates. It was a blast, and our end-of-the-year activities seem to be getting better and better. Something else that has been great is that I've landed a job! I'm going to be working for a local management consulting firm that mostly has contracts with cities and developers for economic development and neighborhood revitalization projects. It's a fantastic opportunity, and I'm excited to be staying around New Haven for at least a couple more years.

My last week of SOM... Three more classes, three more projects, two more exams, and then, on Friday, it will be all over. First years and incoming Class of 2009 members, make sure you relish every moment. These will be two of the best years of your life, and they will fly by.

A few minutes ago, I ordered my cap and gown for our May 28 commencement. It was surreal. SOM has been this nice, warm cocoon for the past few years, and while I was in the "real world" for five years before coming here, I have a hard time remembering what that was like. There are going to be lots of good times in the next two months, but graduation will be hard, I think, for many of us.

Hi everyone! My name is Gloria. I'm a second year here at SOM and I'm a student administrator for this site. For more about me, check out the little bio that's linked to this page. So I'm going to run with other people's thoughts on classes and career. I've only got eight weeks of school left, so things are a little different for me than they are for Patrick and Paul. Because I'm a second year, all my classes are electives, and it's been sort of hit-and-miss this school year.
