Post-MBA Position: McKinsey & Company
I’m looking forward to working with some of my classmates at McKinsey and keeping our sense of community alive.
We have a core class in the first term called Problem Framing. You only do it for a few weeks, but it really teaches you an important lesson, which is that in order to get to the root of a problem, it’s important to think about it from all the different perspectives. That approach is inherent in the entire curriculum, and I’ve found it to be really useful. I’m excited to see how it helps me in my career as a consultant to come up with solutions to business problems that make sense for all the stakeholders involved.
In my class we have nine people going to McKinsey after graduation, which is pretty remarkable when you think about the size of our class. Four of us went to the Stamford, Connecticut, office for final-round interviews on the same day. Consulting interviews are very competitive by their nature, but up until the last minute, we were still practicing our behavioral interviews together.
And all four of us got offers from McKinsey. We didn’t know that there were even four offers to be had. I’m looking forward to working with some of my classmates at McKinsey and keeping our sense of community alive. And I’m looking forward to coming back to SOM in the future and recruiting more people to join us.
