Lecturer in the Practice of Leadership & Leadership Coach
Laurie Kelley is a lecturer in the practice of leadership and co-leads Yale School of Management’s coaching practice. Laurie has over twenty years of experience helping Fortune 500 companies, small companies, and not-for-profits engage and align talent to achieve successful business outcomes. She specializes in executive coaching, leader and interpersonal development, talent management, and team effectiveness.
In her teaching role at Yale, Laurie directs Leadership Practicum, a core course in self-directed leader development taken by all management graduate students. An experienced professional coach, she works one-on-one with Yale students to increase their leadership capacity. She is highly personable in her style and totally focused on helping students be successful in achieving their goals.
Prior to joining Yale SOM, Laurie was a Senior Consultant for Korn/Ferry Leadership and Talent Consulting, supporting companies across industries and functions to assess, select and develop leaders.
At Prudential Financial, she was a Vice President, where she led the performance management process. She also served as an executive coach and consultant to senior and mid-level leaders on leadership and organization development initiatives. Previously, Ms. Kelley was a human resource development director at American Express where she received several awards, including the Chairman’s Award for Quality, for a competency-based Global Sales Learning System.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Kelley taught business communications and presentation skills at The University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
