Happening Today: Round 2 Deadline and Opening of Evans Hall

Today is an especially busy–I would add historic–day here at Yale SOM. Not only is our Round 2 application deadline today at 5:00 p.m. (and those of you looking for last-minute application advice can look at my previous two blog posts), but it is the start of our Edward P. Evans Hall Opening Conference.

After years of planning and construction, we have just moved into our beautiful, new, Norman Foster-designed campus. To celebrate the move, the School is hosting an Opening Conference entitled “Business + Society: Leadership in an Increasingly Complex World.”

The Opening Conference brings together Yale SOM alumni, friends, and other leaders from business, academia, and government to examine major trends transforming markets and organizations around the world. Conference sessions will touch on topics such as Healthcare Innovation, Social Entrepreneurship, Finance in Society, and Ethics and Leadership: Innovations in Education, and will include Jeff Bewkes, Chairman and CEO, Time Warner; Indra Nooyi, Chairman and CEO, PepsiCo; Chengyu Fu, Chairman, China Petrochemical; Arianna Huffington; Joel Klein, Executive Vice President, News Corp.; Paul Volker, Former Chairman of the Federal Reserve; David Swensen, Chief Investment Office, Yale University; Jane Mendillo, President and CEO, Harvard Management Co.; Robert Rubin, Co-Chair, Council on Foreign Relations; Margaret Warner, Senior Correspondent, PBS NewsHour; and many others.

The School will Livestream the Opening Conference; you can watch all of the sessions live through our website and join the conversation with our conference hashtag, #EvansOpens.  We hope you can take part, and best of luck to all Round 2 applicants!
