Overconfidence is one of the key biases that cause smart people to do dumb things. We will discuss the psychology of overconfidence and how to avoid it. Many plausible “fixes” simply do not work; but one does! We will reveal insights from research on perspective-taking that give hints on how to properly calibrate confidence in ourselves and those we lead.
