The Emerging Leaders Seminar: Global Organizations and Management (ELS: Global) is designed to foster the careers of promising professionals of color by providing an understanding of the increasingly global challenges faced by organizations in a variety of sectors.

As a participant in the Emerging Leaders Seminar, you will learn from top Yale SOM faculty, getting an understanding of management tools and how they can help address challenges in any sector. You will also interact with current students and alumni and learn about the value of management education and the diversity of career options possible with a graduate management degree. The program also provides participants with professional development coaching and opportunities to engage with other high-potential professionals of color.

You will leave the program with connections to a larger professional network, new ways of thinking about global challenges, and business skills and insights that you can immediately apply within your organization and towards your career.

Investment

  • Tuition, cost of lodging (in a double occupancy room), and meals during the program are covered by the Yale School of Management.
  • Participants will receive up to $500 reimbursement toward transportation costs to and from Yale’s campus in New Haven, Connecticut.

Who Should Apply?

    • This program is designed for early career professionals (zero to two years of experience) from underrepresented ethnic backgrounds who currently work or plan to work for a global organization and are considering attending graduate school in the future.
    • Competitive applicants will have at least six months of continuous full-time work experience and a GPA above 3.0 on a four-point scale.
    • We encourage applications from professsionals who identify as: Black, Hispanic American/Latino, Native American, Southeast Asian American, African, Latin American, or Pacific Islander.

    • Application opens March 1. Applicants must be available to attend the entire seminar.

    • Undergraduate transcript (unofficial)
    • Professional nomination: to be completed by a management-level member of current organization, detailing applicant’s contributions to the organization and leadership potential (approximately 300 words).
