From the Director of Admissions: Off and Running

As the MBA Class of 2016 begins its two-year journey through Yale SOM, the process for the Class of 2017 is just getting underway. The first application deadline for this class is just over a week away, on September 18. You'll find more information on the process on our website, and of course you can always email us with questions at mba.admissions@yale.edu.

The Class of 2016—one of the most diverse and accomplished in school history—arrived at Yale just a few weeks ago, on August 18. The class began its Yale MBA career with a week-long Orientation program, before diving into the integrated core curriculum.

It's always exciting for me to see the students that we've gotten to know individually arrive on campus and start becoming part of our community. At Orientation, students not only to get to know each other, but also, through activities such as the Global Mobile Communication Challenge, learn to work together and begin to develop into the leaders they aspire to become. Orientation is also a wonderful introduction to the possibilities that exist at Yale and beyond. This year, students spent a day hearing from alumni about the career paths open to them. And they heard from Austin Ligon '80, a founder of Carmax, about the power of an entrepreneurial mindset in any career.
