Construction Update: December 2011

The shape of Edward P. Evans Hall, the new Yale SOM campus, is becoming visible. Since October, workers have been bolting in the 4,750 pieces of steel that will make up the skeleton of Evans Hall. The steel already in place is starting to give a sense of the building’s internal and external structures, including a distinctive curved space at the southwest corner that will house the largest classroom. The process of installing the steel structure should be complete by March. The structure will be enclosed in a temporary sheathing through the winter, so that work can continue within, including the installation of ductwork. Installation of interior and external glass is scheduled to begin in spring 2012.
