Claire Hughes Johnson '01
Vice President, Google Offers, Google
When we talk internally, it's all about the users. What we want to do is make Google's products and the web more accessible, useful, and engaging. When that's happening for users, that's where advertisers like to reach them.
As a marketing professional at Google, Claire Hughes Johnson ’01 brings the company’s data-driven approach to developing and selling new products. Prior to Google, Johnson worked in management consulting, developing marketing strategies for companies including DirecTV, the New York Times, and Dow Jones.
Johnson spoke to Yale Insights in 2012, when she was Google's vice president for new products, media, and platforms, about the role of marketing in launching new products.
