Carpe Noctem

It's hard to believe two full weeks of classes have already gone by; they seemed to go by quite literally in the blink of an eye. Amazingly enough, I feel busier now attending classes 3 - 4 hours per day than when I was working 40 + hours per week. From what I can tell, our class is taking as much advantage as possible of what SOM, Yale University, and New Haven at large, have to offer, particularly with regard to our favorite non-academic activities (GPSCY, anyone?). Carpe noctem, 2012, carpe noctem. Since the slots in the calendar seem to fill up with amazing rapidity, I'm wondering if anyone else is suffering from the classic b-school problem: FOMO, also known as the Fear of Missing Out. I'm signed up for many more activities than I can possibly attend, and every time I'm double-booked, I'm faced with the loathsome choice of giving one the axe, always wondering if the alternative I've chosen is the "right" one. As we're constantly looking for ways to expand our networks, you may want to consider The Ivy Plus Society, also known as TIPS. TIPS "produces social networking events for young alumni of a select group of schools" (http://www.ivyplussociety.org/), with events taking place in LA, San Francisco, DC and New York. Congratulations, 2012, on getting through your first two weeks...here's to all of the subsequent weeks getting better and better.
