Reaching Out from the MAM Program

Candidates in Yale School of Management’s MAM program strive to externalize the core purpose of their program, which is focused on building business leaders who can solve problems at the intersection of business and society. A recent example of this was a cycling event held to benefit the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen at SHiFT Cycling located on Crown Street, New Haven.

More than 35 members of the MAM class as well as other members of the SOM community were present and helped raise $350 over 45 minutes of cycling to help the soup kitchen purchase warm clothing for the homeless in New Haven.

Linda Carbone, director of operations at the soup kitchen who opened the event, expressed gratitude for the effort, saying, “This is my first time attending a cycling event organized with the sole purpose of raising funds for our kitchen. We are deeply grateful for what this class is doing here, and we will be happy to have [them] volunteer in the spring in the kitchen.”

In the coming months, the MAM class will continue to contribute actively in integrating Yale to the New Haven community.
