Position Focus: 

Reporting to the Associate Directors of Admissions and working closely with the Associate Director of Data, Analytics and Marketing, and as a core member of the professional Master of Advanced Management (MAM), Master of Management Studies (MMS), and the professional MBA for Executives (EMBA) admissions teams, the Assistant Director (“AD”) plans and participates in the recruitment, selection and attraction of the strongest possible student body for Yale SOM, while supporting strong working relationships / partnerships across the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM). The AD oversees MAM, MMS and EMBA customer experience across recruiting and admissions functions in order to provide the best end-to-end customer experience. Drives process innovation for operational efficiency and optimal recruitment performance.

Essential Duties: 

  1. MAM/MMS/EMBA CRM/ Slate super user, implementing automation, supporting system optimization and improving data integrity and process where possible. Manages annual cycle preparation process, lead nurturing process, online application process and decision release throughout the admissions cycle. Ensures the accurate and timely data transfer to Yale’s student system “Banner” from the admissions module to student record creation. Manages the flow of information through Banner database and its effects on related databases/websites. Uses Brio Hyperion to write and edit reports to pull data out of Banner where necessary. Educates team on best practice, ensuring easy access to accurate information for all admissions team members. Supports Slate best practice sharing between SOM departments.
  2. Organizes MAM/MMS/EMBA annual recruitment calendar. Seeks synergies across program departments and schools at Yale. Employs data to ensure best deployment of resources and human capital. Attends and hosts on-campus events/tours and virtual events as assigned.
  3. Manages program reporting: Delivers weekly KPI reports, lead score updates and makes data-driven recommendations on admissions and recruitment strategies. Manages admissions entry survey, analysis and final report. Generates class profile data. Supports external reporting as required.
  4. Evaluates prospect profiles and recommends a tailored learning path based on prospective candidate needs and strength of profile, and responds to pre-assessment queries. Schedules Associate Director follow-up for high quality leads.
  5. Conducts informative interviews, application consultations and on- and off-campus consultation sessions as necessary. Provides candidates with guidance and counseling as necessary.
  6. Coordinates content generation efforts for MAM, MMS and EMBA students. Manages the generation and/or updates of all MAM, MMS and EMBA commercial materials. Coordinates / sends newsletters and other significant communications. Manages the admissions information portal for newly admitted students.
  7. Produces a weekly applicant pipeline report to monitor progress and support / participate in follow-up.
  8. Member of the Yale MAM, MMS and EMBA Admissions and Scholarships Committees. Supports student review process. Analyzes and independently assesses overall records to determine if applicants are appropriate for interview and admission. Conducts admissions interviews as assigned. Works with SOM Financial Aid and loan partners to provide documentation for scholarship committee.
  9. Supports enrollment activities to ensure a high yield outcome for admitted candidates. Liaises with SOM IT, Central IT, Student Academic Services, OISS and the Business Office as necessary.
  10. Coordinates documentation for admitted and enrolled students, including shipment of admitted and enrollment materials, and generation and mailing of visa documents for incoming students.
  11. Supports orientation program.
  12. Recruits and manages student workers.

Required Education & Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

  4. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. Writing sample required. Well-developed computer skills and ability to adapt quickly to online admissions software programs. Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  5. Ability to understand and promote the goals and distinct qualities of the School of Management. Successful candidates will demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm, maturity, tact, and a commitment to diversity.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree. Global orientation; experience working across countries and regions, and fluency in more than one language.
