Position Focus: 

Reporting to the Directors of Client and Curriculum Development, manage a breadth of marketing, sales and operational projects. Target prospects and develop new business through a range of activities including prospect identification, prequalification, proposal development assistance, helping with contracting, and client account management.

Work closely with the operations management team through delivery and post-survey follow-up. Ensure that clients (and prospects) experience the best of Yale Executive Education from first point of contact throughout their program delivery experience. The business development professional will work closely with the Client Relationship Manager (CRM) and Yale faculty through all phases of the client acquisition and development process.

Essential Duties: 


  1. With Sales team, develop and maintain client proposal toolkit including faculty bios, course descriptions, brand guidelines. Draft client proposals with direction from Client Relationship Managers.
  2. Qualify outbound and inbound leads for custom programs, partnerships, and open enrollment.
  3. Lead client relationship management on a small number of custom client accounts. Nurture and grow client relationships.
  4. Learn and maintain knowledge about Yale faculty teaching and research. Work with faculty as necessary during the business development and proposal development processes.


  1. Coordinate with program managers on pre-program delivery activities.
  2. Follow-up with clients on survey results and program refinement.
  3. Support post-program activities and follow-up.


  1. Develop strong working relationships with school, campus and community-based business partners and serve as an ambassador and liaison for the Yale School of Management and University.

Required Education & Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of sales and/or program management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills & Abilities:   

  1. Proficiency with Word, Excel, and SalesForce, and ability to learn Flatbridge and SalesForce Pardot. Proficiency with existing social media tools including Twitter, LinkedIn, blogs and SEO, and curiosity to keep abreast of upcoming tools and industry trends.
  2. Proficiency with or ability to learn Canvas or similar learning management system. Superior oral and written communication skills. Passion to build brands through excellence and innovation. Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  3. Superior interpersonal skills to interact effectively and represent the school well with clients, faculty, students, administrators and corporate contacts.
  4. A team player who works well with other members of the staff, especially faculty. A leader with a positive and can-do attitude who supports the mission of Yale SOM. Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced group within a large institution.
  5. Proven organizational skills, including the ability to organize and manage multiple projects and processes simultaneously; experience tracking multi-stage projects. Requires excellent independent judgment, sensitivity, and knowledge of appropriate protocol. Self starter with ability to operate independently. Some nights and weekend work required. May include travel.


Project management background managing major corporate client relationships and/or events and facilitating the delivery of world-class service. Global orientation, experience working across countries and regions, and fluency in more than one language.
