Admissions Corner: April Visits to SOM

It’s a wonderful time of year to visit the Yale School of Management and experience Evans Hall.

Our globe-trotting students have just returned to campus from their International Experience trips and Global Network Weeks and our campus visit program is poised to host visitors from near and far in their search for the right business school.  If you’re looking for a dynamic learning environment, if you see the value in an integrated curriculum and the raw case approach, if you want the opportunity to your hone your personal leadership style, and if you want to be part of a community that embraces and promotes diversity and camaraderie, come see us in New Haven this spring.

Available Campus Visit Dates (register early to secure a spot!)

  • Tuesday, April 15 through Wednesday, April 16
  • Monday, April 21 through Thursday, April 24
  • Monday, April 28 through Wednesday, April 30

The Campus Visit Program begins with a 9:30 a.m. arrival at Evans Hall, our new home designed by Lord Norman Foster, a Yale School of Architecture alumnus and winner of the highest prize in architecture, the Pritzker Prize.  Your first activity will be the opportunity to join a class in one of five different styled classrooms that are purposely designed to be conducive to team teaching and collaboration, and boast the latest technology.   You’ll then be offered a tour of Evans Hall by current students, from the glass enclosed Ross Library with suspended reading room, to the Beinecke Terrace furnished with tables and chairs made with reclaimed wood of native New Haven trees.  As you enjoy lunch with your student hosts you’ll no doubt notice the vibrant artwork of Sol LeWitt, installed with the help of our Master of Fine Arts graduates from the Yale School of Art.  At 1:00 p.m. it’s time to tour our home university, eminent and purposeful Yale University.  After returning to the School of Management you’ll be greeted by a member of our Admissions team and a current student for a Q&A session to wrap up your day by 3:00 p.m.

If you’re a foodie like me, you’ll want to top off your visit with a good meal in New Haven.  From Soul de Cuba Cafe to Barcelona Wine Bar & Restaurant, we’ve got it all, but pizza in New Haven is where it’s at: The Definitive Guide to New Haven Pizza.  Staying a bit longer to experience the community at large?  Here’s a must read, 30 things You Need to Know About New Haven Before You Move There.
